Why is there no good TV in the summer?

#1

Post by Brandon2390 » Thu Jul 10, 2008 1:34 am

Seriously, it's annoying when the only season that I actually have time to watch whatever I want does not play new seasons of any good shows. Why does summer get the shaft when it comes to TV? All I can do now is wait for new seasons of Lost, Prison Break, 24, Heroes, etc.

Basically, because more people spend their summer nights outside of the house and thus, not watching TV. New episodes don't come on during the summer because the networks wouldn't profit as much.

Please don't remind me that I have to wait 6 more months for Lost.

Isn't Monk usually a summer show?

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

I think Brandon was talking about network TV in particular...there are a few shows on cable that have their runs in the summer.

That's because ratings don't really matter for cable. It's more about subscription.

It doesn't really affect me. Half the time I can turn on discovery channel and find a show that I like. Although, I do tend to see repeats of Mythbusters seeing as I've probably watched that show more frequently than the others. Otherwise, all I'm really waiting for is 24, which I think is going to be the final season?

I always thought the purpose of Television sets was for DVD's and Zelda.

Well, The Spectacular Spider-Man (AKA the best show currently on television) aired its Season Finale on June 14th. Does that count?

However, we're gonna have to wait til January (at the soonest) for season two, and no one even knows what channel it's gonna be on yet! Grumble, grumble...

House won't return until a few months from now, which sucks, but Psych and Monk are both great if you like comedy with some serious sprinkled in so the shows make sense.
