Eh, inspired by my Batman thread. Who's your favorite Joker? Unfortunately, two of the actors who have played the Joker have died as of recently.
Three, if you count Mark Hamill's career. OHHHH LOW BLOW
Kay, vote.

Ledger at least looks like the most badass.

Batman:The Animated Series will always be one of my favorite shows, and Mark Hamill did an amazing job doing the Joker. I think that they should dub over that guy's voice in The Dark Knight with Mark Hamill.

Everything about 'The Batman' sucks, and especially their version of the Joker.
As for the rest...well, I think Jack Nicholson and Mark Hamill were both excellent. I couldn't choose between them. They both did a tremendous job conveying the Joker's theatricality, his charisma, and his sadistic glee--it's hard to make such a total bastard likeable, but they managed.

Mark Hamill Is my fave so far, though I've yet to see the Dark Knight movie I'm really certain it'll be a tie after I see it though.

It;s hard to pick a best Joker because he's been so well done in iterations. Nicholson's characterisation is a drastic and remarkable departure from the outlandish (yet so darkly terrifying) depiction by Mark Hamil, and Ledger's homicidal no-nonsense approach is nowhere near the machiavellian portrayal seen often in the comic books and solidifiedby Alan Moore. Even the camp 70s version had its brilliance. It's the same as the many iterations of the Riddler.

As of now, Mark Hamill. I won't judge Heath Ledger 'till I see the movie, but I'm digging the whole Alex DeLarge take on The Joker he's got going.

Cesar Romero. For the same reason Adam West is the best Batman. -CSM

Bingo. Heath looks very, very promising, but Mark Hamill was fantastic.

Apparently, there's already talk of Ledger being so good (as seen in previews), he could be the front runner for the best supporting actor Oscar. And many people say he could get it, not out of sympathy, but because he's that good.

It'd be a rare feat for a summer movie. SRSLY. Oscar nominees usually come out in Fall.

Watched Mask of the Phantasm the other night, and I'm stuck between Mark Hamill and Heath Ledger. Although with the animated Joker, a big part of it was not only the voice acting, but the actions of the character on screen. But, Hamill's voice DID bring a lot to it...

I couldn't decide until I remembered this line:
"Now, ain't that a co-inky-dink? We're talking about the old man, and the SPAAAAAWN* of his loins just happens to call! Makes you want to laugh... doesn't it, Arthur?"
And if you don't know what my answer is based on that, I'll say this: my sentiments are right in line with most other people's so far.
*High note

^'Oohhh, look at me, I'm the Joker! Never mind my uncharacterostic lack of likability and wit! Watch me suck more than should be humanly possible, and amidst an oh-so-mistaken shift in personalitty towards 'thug', to boot! Could it get better than this? Not without the intervention of a more generous God, it couldn't!'
