Favorite Anime?

#1

Post by VG_Addict » Sat Mar 01, 2008 11:27 am

Here's some I like:

Gokujou Student Council.
Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo. (Oh, shut up.)
Bleach. (Haven't seen much of it, but it looks pretty good.)
Comic Party Revolution.
Prince of Tennis.
MAR.

As you can see, you basically just post your favorite anime here.

I tend to not stand animes that last longer than 26 episodes.

FMA is interesting, but pushing it (what is it, 52 episodes). I've still never seen the whole thing all of the way through. I keep getting lost halfway through and forget to watch episodes. I need to watch the whole thing at some point, though.

Evangelion is interesting and short, but fails for other reasons.

'Trigun', 'Cowboy Bebop', and 'Samurai Champloo' are good...but other people have already mentioned them.

'Record of Lodoss War' rules. So does 'Excel Saga'. I love 'Ushio and Tora', and what I've seen of 'Gun Sword' has blown me right on away. I haven't watched anything new in ages--I probably should.

My top three:
3. Azumanga Daioh. Osaka steals every scene she's in, the lack of a plot and being grounded in reality works in it's favor as a slice-of-life comedy. And Yomi's hot.
2. Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo. Unlike Azumanga, the plot drags on, it relies completely on non-sequiturs and surrealism, and makes me laugh uncontrollably.
1. And my absolute favorite is Lupin the Third. I can't describe why it's so awesome. So, watch this video instead.

Dead Leaves
Paprika
Furi Kuri
King Gainer

The list would be longer if most series could even hold a candle to their manga counterparts.

Blue Submarine No. 6
Fooly Cooly
Gundam 0080
Vision of Escaflowne
Cowboy Bebop
Wolf's Rain
Samurai Champloo
Trigun
Ghost in the Shell

I've only read the Akira manga, but if the movie is even in the same neighborhood in terms of quality....

Yep, but it's mostly 'Farewell to Nostradamus', which isn't as bad as many make it out to be.
