Re: Theme Songs!
Pokemon is the catchiest, most memorable & iconic opening by far imo:
Runner-up is Shield Hero. It's become my favorite anime after DBZ, and the opening is somehow the coolest and cutest thing ever.

^That's a cool opening. I had a friend up at camp who loved 'Dexter'------------he's the guy who got me to check out ATLA. If two friends like it, it must be worth at least trying out.
Hey, when I was a kid I didn't ever watch 'Baretta' because I didn't like it, and now that I'm grown I still don't like 'Baretta' and I also dislike Robert Blake because he murdered his wife and then escaped justice, but you know what? Rad-ass theme song.

Re: Theme Songs!
My favorite season is the first. Something a little more surreal and atmospheric about it, and I really think they nailed the ending. Season 2 is a strong follow-up. Jimmy Smits is super fun in Season 3, and everyone loves John Lithgow getting all scary and weird in season 4.Booyakasha wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2024 8:46 am^That's a cool opening. Show drops off pretty hard after that. Still haven't checked out the little revival season they did a couple years ago, but I'd be willing to check it out.
Back on the topic of opening themes; Peacemaker has a great one:

Re: Theme Songs!
Yeah, the Pokemon theme is like the only song I know all the lyrics to lol. It was really hype as a kid, got your blood pumping for adventure.Booyakasha wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2024 4:03 pm...I don't care what anyone says, OG Pokémon theme is a rad jam.

One of the best things about Shield Hero's how strong it starts. It has a masterful first episode, sets everything up perfectly, so I definitely recommend trying it since it doesn't need a few episodes to hook you like many shows. No pressure but let me know your thoughts if you do get around to checking it out, Boo. It is on Crunchyroll.
I feel like I remember this, it sounds familiar and nostalgic. I wonder if I watched it as a little kid or something...

Based on those US airdates and channels I'd be more surprised if I didn't ever see it. Now I'm more concerned about my memory than anything lol

Oh yeah. It's got that fight song energy, just like 'Hardcastle and McCormick', or 'Go Go Power Rangers!'. Theme to 'Magnum P.I.' was composed by Mike Post, who also composed the themes to 'Hardcastle and McCormick', 'Hill Street Blues', 'A-Team', 'Quantum Leap', 'Silk Stalkings', 'Rockford Files', 'Renegade', and every 'Law and Order', among others. Re: Theme Songs!
I never watched any of thse except Power Rangers, which does have that same kinda feel like Pokemon actually. Man, the 90's sure knew their opening themes. Oh, and Law & Order but only the Miami one, which was pretty good, mostly because it'd always start with that dude making a memey quip and putting on his shades just before it starts lolBooyakasha wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2024 9:28 pmOh yeah. I'd also lump Spider-Man in there. It's really badass to this day, like an actually great song in its own right.
King of the Hill is pretty iconic, I never appreciated it as a kid but the show aged like wine and only gets better.
