The New Doctor

#1

Post by Heroine of the Dragon » Sat Jul 15, 2017 9:06 pm

DOCTOR Who fans are still reeling from the news that Peter Capaldi will leave his role as the Time Lord at the end of the current series.

The next Doctor Who will be revealed on TOMORROW (Sunday July 16) after the 2017 Wimbledon Men’s Final.

A bunch of suggestions are at the link for the new Doctor.

Who are you hoping will be the new Doctor Who?

Which Dr Who has been your favourite to date? :D

I haven't seen Capaldi's Doctor which is a shame because I was pretty excited about him. Fell off of the bandwagon at the wrong time I guess.

I still think it would be cool to see a Doctor who isn't a man.

Craig Ferguson or Hayley Atwell.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

No idea who plays the next doctor. It's kind of academic--------------I haven't seen anything more recent than that TV movie.

Favourite to date is Jon Pertwee. No question. Tom Baker is alright. Paul McGann was pretty good. Shame he didn't get more than just the one chance.

I watched the TV movie on YouTube when I was in Germany. Stuff in Germany doesn't stay open late, and Netflix wasn't OK with us watching internationally.

I've only just started watching the current season. Three episodes in. Looking forward to The Master of the DT Doctor coming back.

What'd you think?

I really liked it, myself. I mean, it was kind of stupid, but still good. Thought Paul McGann would have made a good Doc, longterm.

I don't know anyone else who's seen the flick. Kinda feel like it got an unfair negative rap just because it wasn't the same as the originals, right. And then the new serii come out, and everybody just love-love-loves 'em to death, despite them also bein very, very different from the originals, as I'm given to understand (once again, I'm no one to judge------------have not seen a moment of the current DW).

I liked the movie. McGann would have been a fine long term Doctor. He was warm and kindly. Pretty different from McCoy, or some the ones who felt more alien. Might have something to do with the weird decision to say he's half human. I liked Eric Roberts as The Master too.

As some what predicted, is wasn't anyone super famous. And a relatively unknown star. I just didn't get the gender right, I kept ignoring the hints.

I'll do what I've done since Doctor Who has been coming back in 2004. Give the New Doctor a chance. Pretty much every stupid fan has hated the next Doctor, and then they turn out to be great.

I'm so excited. She is a great actor and I think she'll make an excellent doctor.

I don't know anything about her, but I never have except for Doctor No. 9.

Honestly I only know her from Broadchurch and one episode of Black Mirror, but she played a grieving mother so well in Broadchurch. She really convinced me.

I had a longtime feeling they were gonna do this, specifically in that one episode where
The Doctor returns to Gallifrey and saves Clara and shoots that one Time Lord who then turns into a black lady.
There's been a few more hints to it as well. So people have been guessing it's going to happen for a while.

I haven't seen the latest season but didn't the Doctor mention something about the gender neutrality of Time Lords to that new companion chick?

Possibly, there was also a character who said to the Doctor in the last episode "Ugh, is the future all girl?", to which the Doctor replied "One can only hope."

When the 8th Doctor was set to be forced to regenerate, one of the options he was given was to be "A man or a Woman?"

Heck, even when the 4th Doctor was thinking about leaving. Tom Said that a woman could replace him.

The 11th Doctor mentioned a friend (The Corsair) of his to the Ponds. Who he claimed to have switched between genders a lot.

And even 12 forced a Gallifreyan General to regenerate from a Man to a Woman, and even skin tone!
