New One Armed Swordsman, Shaun of the Dead, and Fallen Angels.
All three are great movies, and are in order from less great to more great. I'm not quite sure why I'm so consistently amazed by Wong Kar-Wai (the director of Fallen Angels), but every single one of his movies invigorates me like no other filmmaker can. The only others that can even come close are Quentin Tarantino and Park Chan-Wook, who even though I've enjoyed all of the films I've seen from have not affected me in quite the same way that WKW has.

Went to see 'In Bruges' today. Excellent film. Much in the vein of 'Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels', but less stylised and better acted. Highly recommend it.
Also caught the latest episode of 'John Adams', the new HBO series. Damn good series, if I'm any kind of judge. Recommend it, too.

Battle Royale and My Sassy Girl
Do I lose manpoints for liking the latter more than the former? Because I damn near cried like a baby at the end of MSG.
I am also very saddened to see that both these great films are going to be remade in Hollywood, and am sure that the remakes will be of markedly less quality than the originals.

Yesterday, I went to see '10,000 BC' and 'Horton Hears a Who' at the multiplex. Against all odds, I enjoyed both of them. '10,000 BC' was a lot smarter and better-made than I thought it would be, and 'Horton Hears a Who' had plenty of redeeming lunacy to counter-balance the Seuss smarminess.
