Ooh, but the new 'Steven Universe'.

It had a fun song, and a rad song, and some terrific character development for Connie and Pearl. Liked seeing Steven is able to summon his shield consistently, now. That's cool.
Boy, but Steven and Connie take some names, here. Connie is awesome on her own, and the two of them kick ass together. Holo-Pearl gets the everlovin knocked out of her, man.
New intro is pretty hype. I mean, I loved the original one, but there's a new one, now, and it's slick.

Finished Parasyte. It had much more potential for a longer series set up but it just ended. I like short series but it didn't wrap up well enough for me.

Man. I'm so glad 'Steven Universe' is back.

Just saw "Rising Tides, Crashing Skies" and "Keeping it Together". The former was really goofy and funny--------the latter was super cool and messed up.

SU is sort of my favourite show in the world just now.

[EDIT: I like how every shot of Garnet in the new intro shows her smiling. It's nice.

Jeepers Lorenzo. If there'd been a single doubt Garnet was fave character in SU before ep. 60, been settled, homey. Goodness.

Boy, but Steven Bomb #2 was good.

I really like "We Need to Talk". It's weirdly really sad and nice all at once. I like seeing these characters interact. I liked Pearl a lot. She was kind of mean, and condescending, and jealous, and relatable.

...Rose was barefoot again. I like a barefoot woman. There's something primal about it. Man.

Inside Out.

This is definitely more Pixar than the previous two movies, and better than the last three. (Sorry, Brave, you're a good movie, just wasn't much Pixary. and sorry Monsters U, you just weren't much to write hom about. And Cars 2... BURN.) I'm surprised at how adult this movie is - and I don't mean "Hahaha look at this dirty joke we snuck in!", I mean "...Are kids really going to understand what's happening here? o,O". Oh sure, they definitely sneak in a few dirty jokes ("Are there bears in San Francisco?" // "I saw a really hairy man...") but a lot of the metaphors are going to fly right over a kid's head. Let's be honest - if I saw this when I was like 14, I would NOT have gotten some of that stuff.

The other thing I notice is that Pixar doesn't always (keyword here - always) fill up silence with singing.

@Loot...seen 'Steven Universe' yet? You might like it. They got pirated copies of the whole series over at YouTube. It's a hoot. (Watch it in order. Continuity is kind of a big deal in SU, sometimes.

...gods below.

"Keeping it Together".
...that fusion-monster is just one of the most awful things. Like, Frybo was bad, but this takes it to a whole nother level. It's just wrong. I mean, I was skeeved the first time I saw it, but I was kind of too skeeved to be properly horrified, you know?

Like, if they were after making your Homeworld Gems seem just, like, Josef Mengele/Unit 731-style callous and vindictive and evil...mission accomplished. Wuff.
Oh man oh man, but Steven Bomb 3 is underway in just a couple hours, here.

Saw that SDCC panel video (the one with little Steven playing his song for the Gems, yadda yadda yadda, segue into the new intro). It's fantastic. Hoping it either shows up in-show soonest or they release a clean version-----------copy I caught was some goon's cell-phone video, and the audience was schreiing it up too hard for me to hear a lot of it.

[EDIT: Boy, but talk about your tonal shift. "Cry For Help" started off pretty cute and sweet, and ended on such a down note.

Sardonyx was pretty rad, though.]

[EDIT2: Man. Funny how they made that new intro with everyone smiling for Steven Bomb #2, just to have Steven Bomb #3 come along and not have any of the main characters smiling at each other ever at all in-show.

Finished Sailor Moon Crystal yesterday.
I read this in the manga, but I ended up crying when I saw Chibiusa leaving in the anime. I recall not caring for her in the original anime but I ended up liking her in this version.
Some loser borrowed my copy of the Lupin III movie The Castle of Cagliostro years ago, which is one of my favorite anime movies ever. They moved out of the country so my chances of getting it back are basically 0. But I was at a video store the other day and found that they re-released it in a new special edition. So I gladly paid for it and watched it right away. Never gets old. Love that movie.

^Ooh, but 'Castle of Cagliostro'.

You know, never even mind it being best Lupin III flick (which it clearly is)---------I'd honestly make a case for it being best Miyazaki flick, as well. It's a strong, strong contender, guy. Like, I'll acknowledge it wasn't quite the deliberate work of art that his later films were, but it's kind of a perfect film in its own right, as so few films are. Like 'Princess Bride', or 'Ghostbusters', or 'Raising Arizona'. I wouldn't change a single bit of it.

New 'Steven Universe'--------"Catch and Release"

Steven and Peridot have the most brutal gut-churning hand-to-hand fight-scene ever televised. Move over, Mountain and Red Viper, there's a new champ in town.

Man. Peridot's such a weird little goony galoot. I love her.

I re-watched all of Over the Garden Wall again, because a) it's FALL and b) there is so much more to get out of it with context the second time through.... I still have unanswered questions....... bruh

Then I started watching Rick and Morty. Two very different shows, there. Both great.

I'm embarrassed to say, as a weeaboo, that I had not seen Death Note. So I started it yesterday.
