^Snipes talking to Feige is the basis of the rumor, so that's promising. And Horn/Iger have said they'd be willing to release some R-rated Marvel films (mostly to reassure people that they wouldn't tone down Deadpool 3).

Speaking of rumors & Spider-Man: Shailene Woodley might play Jessica Drew.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Speaking of things that AREN'T rumors: Taika Waititi & Chris Hemsworth are both officially signed on for Thor 4.
This is separate from the Guardians 3 that will still be directed by James Gunn & will almost certainly have Thor in it.

SDCC is this weekend; MCU presentations are as follows:
Thu - Agents of SHIELD cast/crew panel
Fri - Infinity War/Endgame screenwriters panel
Fri - Russo Bros. panel
Sat - Marvel Studios main presentation (likely to be Feige announcing the next slate of films)

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Here's a liveblog of the AoS panel. The only real news was an official confirmation that season 7 next year will end the show, which I don't think will surprise anyone, but there are still some neat anecdotes. And a cool teaser for the rest of season 6.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

^Indeed.

Last night's SHIELD was a mind-blower. My mind got blown.
Spoiler.
RIP Agent Davis. I'm bummed we never got to hear your epic story.
Feige's presentation was today. Here's what we've learned:

FILMS:
--Black Widow is confirmed for 1 May 2020 (starring ScarJo, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, O-T Fagbenle [that's how his name is spelled], Rachel Weisz, Ray Winstone, COBIE SMULDERS, SEBASTIAN STAN, & CLARK GREGG). Will feature Taskmaster. Possibly also Hawkeye, because there's a sequence in Budapest. Some part of it is set between Civil War & Infinity War.
--Eternals is confirmed for 6 Nov 2020 (starring Richard Madden as Ikaris, Angelina Jolie as Thena, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, & Lia McHugh as Sprite).
--Shang-Chi & the Legend of the Ten Rings is confirmed for 12 Feb 2021 (starring Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Tony Leung as the real Mandarin, & Awkwafina as We Need More East-Asian Actresses In Hollywood So We Don't Have To Keep Casting Awkwafina).
--Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is confirmed for 7 May 2021 (starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, Chiwetel Ejiofor, & ELIZABETH OLSEN) with Nightmare as the villain.
--Thor: Love & Thunder is confirmed for 5 Nov 2021 (starring Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, & Natalie Portman). Jane Foster will somehow get Thor powers despite Mjolnir no longer existing.
--Also confirmed, but without release dates: Black Panther 2, Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Captain Marvel 2, FANTASTIC FOUR, and BLADE (starring Mahershala Ali). [The first 3 will probably be the 2022 releases.]
--Worth noting: Because Sony runs the Spider-Man movies, they could squeeze a 3rd one out soon anyway, despite Marvel Studios having a full production slate listed already.

DISNEY+ SHOWS:
--The Falcon & the Winter Soldier will release in August-Fall 2020 (starring Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Daniel Bruhl, & Emily VanCamp).
--WandaVision will release in spring 2021 (starring Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, & Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau).
--Loki will release in spring 2021 (obviously starring Tom Hiddleston).
--What If...? will premiere in summer 2021 (starring Jeffrey Wright as Uatu the Watcher). Reprising their live-action roles: Michael B. Jordan, Sebastian Stan, Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Hemsworth, Hayley Atwell, Chadwick Boseman, Karen Gillan, Jeremy Renner, Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Neal McDonough, Dominic Cooper, Sean Gunn, Natalie Portman, David Dastmalchian, Stanley Tucci, Taika Waititi, Toby Jones, Djimon Hounsou, Jeff Goldblum, Michael Rooker, Letitia Wright, Chris Pratt, Jude Law, Zoe Saldana, Chris Evans, Bokeem Woodbine (Shocker), Michael Mando (Scorpion), & Chris Sullivan (Taserface).
--Hawkeye will release in fall 2021 (obviously starring Jeremy Renner), involving Kate Bishop.

OVERALL:
--Here's the full release timeline for 2020 & 2021.
--As of presentation time, Endgame was a mere $500K away from Avatar's global box office record, so by tomorrow night it should have overtaken it. :)
--Here's a video of the whole thing.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

A Blade MCU movie would be a ton of fun. Assuming they'd have Snipes go back into the role (nobody else can be Blade. Nobody).
No disrespect to Mahershala Ali but NO SNIPES NO DEAL, MARVEL

Feige was talking to Snipes recently; they probably still want him involved.

Drought time. Nothing else is coming out until December. The next big announcements would be at D23 in a couple weeks or NYCC in October.
...Unless ABC screws with the information schedule again, say by teasing a female-led "new" Marvel show to debut after SHIELD ends next year, & I swear if it isn't New Warriors, I'm gonna flip out.

Also, apparently Marvel TV is gonna produce some stuff for Disney+ too, in addition to their upcoming new Hulu content & Marvel Studios' already-announced miniseries.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

i see no problems with breaking up disney's ownership of literally **** everything for Muh Crossovers. i like tom's spidey but afaik 1. they're still making 2 spidey films, they just won't be mcu, and 2. i'm ok sacrificing one beloved storyline to put even the tiniest wedge in disney's strongarm over everything.

never thought I'd root for Sony on something lol. anyway maybe this means we'll have more films that aren't massive circlejerky crossovers and are dedicated isolated stories? that seems a lot to ask tho :,)

anyway i don't even go here but am weighing in bc ive seen nothing but this on twitter recently. it's perfectly ok to be sad if you're invested in mcu spidey buuuuut let's not cry for disney here

edit: i do get that it's messy and complicated though with x having rights to y and blah blah, honestly what a fiasco. but i hate that every standalone movie is a crossover now and i also hate that any time disney acquires something there's a wave of "maybe we'll get this in disneyland!" or "crossover!!!!" and this bitch is jaded and tired so any tiny victory over their monopoly is welcome even if it's from another big **** company lololol

(besides sony gave us spider-verse didn't they? soooooo)

Lord & Miller gave us Spider-Verse. Sony gave us Venom.
Raimi gave us Spider-Man 1 & 2. Sony gave us Spider-Man 3.
For all its faults, Webb gave us TASM 1. Sony gave us TASM 2.
Feige & Watts gave us Homecoming & Far From Home. Sony is gonna give us [insert garbage here].
The issue isn't Disney's monopoly or even MCU continuity (I mean, of course it is, but hear me out); the issue is that every time Sony corporate suits hijack Spidey creative decisions from the actual creative people they work with, it ends up terrible.

One of the people behind this decision, for the record, is Tom Rothman, the same exec who, when he worked for Fox, froze the production of Deadpool for 9 years just because he wasn't personally interested in it.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

an update at the top of that article:
Sony issued a statement late in the evening, not denying anything Deadline revealed yesterday, but reiterating its stance that Feige was too busy, which seems like spin. Deadline stands squarely behind its reporting. How important is Feige to the future of this franchise? We’ll find out down the line. Sony is planning two more installments, though it is an open question whether those will include Jon Watts, director of the first two films guided creatively by Feige. Watts isn’t signed on for the next film and isn’t a certainty to be back as he is being heavily courted for other jobs. Could Sony find itself vying against Marvel for Watts’ future services as director? Here is Sony’s late evening statement: “Much of today’s news about Spider-Man has mischaracterized recent discussions about Kevin Feige’s involvement in the franchise. We are disappointed, but respect Disney’s decision not to have him continue as a lead producer of our next live action Spider-Man film,” a Sony spokesperson said. “We hope this might change in the future, but understand that the many new responsibilities that Disney has given him – including all their newly added Marvel properties – do not allow time for him to work on IP they do not own. Kevin is terrific and we are grateful for his help and guidance and appreciate the path he has helped put us on, which we will continue.”

Appreciate the context. Definitely a **** situation.

Creatively, as a singular phenomenon, this certainly sounds like a disaster. I still can't find it in me to be disappointed in Disney "losing" a fight about an IP though, even if there is further context for this particular circumstance. That said I get why people are so pissed now.

^^They were only able to buy Fox because (a) Fox was selling anyway, & ^(b) the alternative was Comcast buying Fox, which would've been an even bigger antitrust issue.
