Watching "I Remember You" inspired me to watch "Holly Jolly Secrets".

So now I'm all sad.

So, like, I picked up that new 'Jake vs. Me-Mow' DVD that came out. Like, I fully expect it will be made irrelevant by subsequent season boxset releases, but dangitall, I so, so want to support the show. Twenny bux is a small price to pay, baby. It has the Lich episodes, man---I'm only human, how could I stop myself?

...it came with a Finn hat packed in. I bet my niece River looks adorable as hell wearin it.

I should buy a box set sooner or later... I want to support the show, too. It's awesome and hilarious and actually sends the right messages and is just plain good.

Just now saw 'Another Way' for the very first time (it's the final episode on the new dibidee). You know, I rather think it's the single weirdest-ass episode in the whole series.

So.

"Simon and Marcy".

Not to sound pretentious, but episodes like this...they elevate the medium. It was just sort of perfect in every way.

I think I tear up every time I see Marcy and Simon together. Such an interesting storyline. Poor Marceline has such a train wreck of a past.

Tell you one thing for true---being the weird off-kilter uncle of a precocious little girl myself, I found the playful banter between the two incredibly authentic. Really sold the narrative.
Incidentally, the pink substance that gave Simon the soup and pocketknife at the end---possible precursor of Princess Bubblegum, prior to coalescence into humanoid form? One wonders.
^That's what I'm thinking. Would explain the green guys.
Love the little detail of Simon calling Marcy "Gunter." Very cool.
^^ My friends and I figured as much, too.

Damn. Worldbuilding and backstory, PLUS adorable bittersweet feels.
