Empire had some really great ideas going on in it.

Return of the Jedi. The space battle over Endor is my favorite in the entire series.

I rank 'em 5>6>4>1>3>2.

Empire is just outstanding. Start to finish it's great. RotJ is right up there, though. I really like Luke having come into his own and working to save his friends and redeem his father. While I don't hate the Ewoks, I don't like their part relative to the rest of the movie.

Parts of RotS are especially terrible, but I like almost nothing about AotC. Except the Kamino fight.

^^iss the best lazersword fight in the whole saga

well, alright, the second-best

My ranking actually goes 4-5-6-1-2-3. Assuming we aren't counting the Ewok movies (which beat the everlovin out of the prequels) or that goofy 'Clone Wars' flick (likewise).

6-5-4-1-3-2. RotJ would be almost flawless in Val's eyes if it weren't for the Ewoks. On the other end of the scale, the only things worth seeing in AotC are the battle on Geonosis and Christopher Lee.

Hell, man. Christopher Lee has like 130 other movies you could see him in.

I like the arena battle in AotC. I liked that they had the characters doing something creative for once instead of just hittin things with their dumb swords like always. Only problem with it was, you know...standard prequel-related undercutting of tension. Like, whilst watching that sequence for the first time, one will not think to oneself, 'Oh my goodness, I wonder if Anakin or Obi-Wan or Panda Bear will die here.' (Operating, of course, under the assumption that nobody would be watching any of the prequels unless they liked the originals, inasmuch as the very idea of somebody seeing TPM first and saying "wow, I'm hyped for five more movies' worth of this" makes me laugh so hard I could barf up my own skeleton.) It would have been nice if the prequel saga had been mostly about characters unrelated to the original movies, so as to avoid such pitfalls. Oh well.

6-5-4-3-2-1. Dunno why everyone hates Ewoks, really.

I don't know what it is. I think it's that the Ewoks are a cutesy plot device instead of real characters, and represent a missed opportunity to do something more compelling.

Missed opportunity, indeed. They were originally going to be Wookiees.

Ewoks are rad.

It is perfectly acceptible for the Empire once again to be defeated by hubris-----'why would we worry about these no-account fuzzy stone-age little nudniks? iss not like they outnumber our garrison a zillion to one and might conceivably ally themselves with the rebels, who are desperate underdog-types and thus willing to try anything, and whom we've specifically lured here whilst the death star is still vulnerable for, you know, whatever reason we did that for'

Problem with having Wookiees in RotJ is that Wookiees are screaming ten-foot super-strong sasquatches with advanced technology. There is literally no chance the Empire doesn't have contingency plans to deal with them------hell, they fought alongside them in 'Sith', they know exactly what the dang-ass Wooks are capable of. Compare to Ewoks, which one can imagine them Empire jerks dismissing out of hand as no threat.

(Incidentally, if the next Battlefront game doesn't allow people to play as Ewoks, thass a huge step backwards for the series, far as it concerns me.)
