Anyone see Wreck-It-Ralph yet?

I saw it last week. I will most definitely admit it
It thankfully does NOT fall into the "Scary movie" trap where it more or less RELIES on its Cameos and shout-outs to carry the film. It's about the characters first, and the cameos&Shout outs second.
I definitely suggest giving it a watch. :O Not just so you can see if you can spot all the shout-outs. :P

This movie rocks. It was genuinely a good film, and then all the little touches added in made it so much better.

FOR MOTHER RUSSIA

zangeif is not a bad guy

Explanation: After some research, it turns out one of the directors really hated playing against Zangief in Street Fighter II as a kid, so he did the mature thing and made him a bad guy in the movie.

I can't help but respect that, actually.

I have seen a lot of positive reviews of this, although I can't help thinking that a lot of the humor will be very childish. Also, the terrible pop song in the trailer is a huge turn-off. Why not some chiptune or bit-pop?

This movie is fantastic. There are a few childish jokes, but hey, it's a kid's movie. It doesn't treat the kids like idiots, though, because the characters are still very deep and the plot is quite good. You can tell that a lot of love went in to the making of the film, which I always appreciate.

^That song isn't in the movie at all, not even once.

saw it, LOVED IT. the plot was really good and the movie itself is really good looking

i was expecting the pop culture references to be overbearing, but they weren't (for the most part)

With any luck, I'll be able to see it this Sunday. With any more luck, I won't run into any more spoilers until then.

Val, I love your avatar.

Y'know, the truest testament to this movie's goodness is the simple fact that it actually made me enjoy something that Sarah Silverman was a part of.

Actually Sarah Silverman was the only negative thing in this movie for me. Her voice as a child is just terrible. Which is strange because she usually talks like a baby all the time. Ralph's voice is done extremely well. John C. Reilly was perfect, I didn't even think about the fact that it was him. But the entire time Vanellope talked, all I could think was, "Sarah Silverman's voice does not fit this character." It was the only thing that ruined this otherwise amazing movie.

Eh, I'm not a real fan of anything Sarah Silverman's done, although I enjoyed Vanellope. Granted as many people know I'm a bit of an idiot when it comes to these things, but alas, my opinion stands.

Awesome movie btw, and honestly I'm glad that, for the most part, the many MANY cameos of video game characters did not drive the plot, rather added a great flavor (Although Q-Bert's role was a tad inflated). Apparently Mario WAS going to make an appearance but they just could not fit him in? Also Sonic's part confused me, mostly because these are arcade games, but apparently one of the machines in that arcade is Sonic the Fighters. Tight.
Also I swear they were going for a double gag with M. Bison mentioning "going turbo", referring to the constant Street Fighter remakes. And in a way, it KINDA fits still after finding out what "going turbo" actually means.
That's basically more than any film I'd normally watch twice, but I'll still give it a try.

I didn't have any real problem with Silverman's voice. I was skeptical going in, but I think she did a fine job. Her voice fit the character well enough for me.

I thought the same thing the first time Bison said it. I was like, "Ha ha, video game reference."

Besides, I would've preferred just Luigi.

Nintendo wanted them to pay a pretty hefty sum for the appearance of the Mario Bros. which Disney obviously didn't shell out for.

Also, if they did pay up, they reportedly wouldn't be able to find a suitable role for either of them due to them being "too valuable to waste on a simple cameo" or something.

But that was a dumb rumor that dumb people believe and it's confirmed they'll try to put him in if there's a sequel

dumb people

Edit: also

1) Mario was still mentioned
2) Bowser's in it
3) There's a Super Mushroom

it wasn't money

Zangief was a badguy in the anime "Street Fighter II V." It isn't video game canon, though.

Oh, and the "Street Fighter: The Movie" game included Zangief, in which he was also a villain. Oh, and obviously the movie had him as a villain as well.

So basically this movie was 600% better than I thought it was going to be. I expected it to be okay, maybe leaning toward the better side of ok. It was completely awesome.

and i definitely appreciated the sonic sez shout-out when Ralph was in the station toward the beginning, that was gr8
