Super Mario Bros. the Movie and Batman and Robin are both legendary for being terrible movies and I hate them. Does that count?

That's one of the reasons I don't like Dr. Strangelove. The humor is way too ham-fisted, as is the political message. It's like, okay, okay, I get it! Paranoia is stupid! If that's the moral of the story, then I get it! Can we move on, please?

Also, it's boring as hell.

Does Jarrasic Park count? If so I was so dissintrested with it that I slept through it at the theater, granted this was 1991 but I still can't stand it.

^ Nah, man, he's talking about that movie where they clone enormous prehistoric jars of jellies. My favorite part is where the kids are being stalked by the apricot preserves.

I don't know the poison spitting elderberry jam was both entertaining and a nice shout out to Arsenic and Old Lace.

Ugh, I swear, I hate you all.

Personally, I don't feel that this topic necessarily warrants an 'explanation', or even debate. Because liking different movies depends on an individual's taste, and that can be wildly different depending on a wide range of contexts. But, that doesn't mean an individual is 'mentally impaired' because they did not enjoy watching a movie; that just means they didn't enjoy watching a movie. But guess what? It doesn't matter. Because it's a ****ing movie.

So, let's all try this again. Some people will not like movies that others do. It happens. Doesn't mean that they aren't valid in feeling that way - you cannot dictate how others should feel about such things. Different experiences, moods, situations will warrant different perspectives on movies. Again - it happens.

If you want to qualify why you didn't like a movie, feel free to. But you don't necessarily have to. And if you really want to debate or explain to other individuals why you feel the same or differently, I'm encouraging you to only engage if you think you can do it in a civil manner. But if I see any more pretentious asshattery, I will not be pleased.

Hard to say. On the one hand, everybody hates Titanic (or at least says they do). On the other hand, it's somehow the most successful movie ever. Go figure.

Yes, I learned never to underestimate the power of a "chick flick". Also, wikipedia has amused me by letting me know that there's a genre called guy-cry films.

Anyways, I have a theory that every guy has both watched and liked The Shawshank Redemption. (This hypothesis does not apply to girls; they can either like it or not.) Anyone here didn't like it?

I liked it, but I found it to be very overrated.

^ that

I can't say there are many classics I've seen that I didn't like. I think the Lord of the Rings was pretty retarded, though.
