^That's exactly why I hate it.

And, no, my sense of humor isn't nonexistant. I've admitted before: I laugh at some of the stuff in Family Guy. I also laugh at semi-immature humor in Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series. I hate to have to defend my sense of humor (I've been voted most humorous and such before, and I'm considered a clown sometimes.), but seriously, just 'cuz the simpsons is too... stupid... for me does NOT mean I have to be called a robot for it.

What happened to clever jokes, when did violence and flatuance become the mainstream. Wait, don't answer.

Anyway, I started learning about mass media a while ago and have been to disgusted by America in particular.

Its not that I like anything else better, Its that America holds the reins and every other country eventually follows.

By the way, did we ever get a link back on those Belgian cartoons?

That's very true.

But what do you think about Futurama?

Futurama sucks.

I like the Simpsons, I really do, but it's just dying. The Simpsons is like a really old dog. You've known it forever, you love it to death, but it's just getting so old and sickly you know you'll have to get rid of it soon. Then, you can replace it with a brand new puppy.

^^Futurama isn't that bad. In fact, I've actually laughed at some of its stuff before, and have managed to stomach whole episodes. I'm not completely against American stuff, after all. It ain't my favorite show... In fact, I'm not quite all that convinced that its even really great, but it's better than some other crap.

I hate to be the defender of the Simpsons, since I find it to be very overrated and almost never watch it anymore, but I do find it quite ironic that some people are saying the humor in the show is stupid (like the extremely insipid Family Guy or one of Dane Cook's festivals of penis jokes) when the reason for its critical acclaim in its earlier seasons was the intelligence behind its humor, give or take the fact that it has dumbed down significantly over the years.

But then again, maybe it's all over your head.

If I may ask, what do you think is the "brand new puppy" in your metaphor? I know we need one, but what will it be?

The Simpsons is still on because it still makes money. Someone must like it at least ...

Futarama is great I just hope that it keeps it's quality post reboot. As for The Simpsons and Southpark, they didn't just go downhill they went cliff diving off the wrong side of the Hoover Dam.

South Park can burn in hell.

Actually, Family Guy is getting boring. I've seen almost every episode, and all I see are repeats.

Interestingly, it's been a year. My self-fashioned hatred for American animation has dissolved and in fact I've moved far beyond my anime phase. But you know what?

I still dislike the Simpsons.

So what kind of animation do you prefer?
