I got bored of MLP after two seasons.

More like My Little Human.

Rugrats All Growed Up is an awesome show. WHAT YOU TALKIN' 'BOUT.

My guess is at least half the fans still want to watch this movie but are too afraid to say "One ticket for My Little Pony"

I think the problem is that they don't allow alcohol in movie theatres, especially if it's a kid's movie, (where you'd think that alcohol would be even more essential.)

Who doesn't allow alcohol in movie theatres? Since when?

I know I saw 'Matrix Reloaded', 'Watchmen', 'Iron Man' and 'Sherlock Holmes' (among others) at the Rosebud with a beer and a shot in front of me. Like who the hell wouldn't.

Man, I bet the Rosebud never shows 'Equestria Girls'. Likely because "ehhhh, it's a niche market, ehhhh ehhhh ehhhhhhhhh" or some such snivelry. Bah.

It just wasn't their Rugrats. Because it had started like 10+ years after they were long outside the target demographic.

Wait. I'm confused. Only Twilight Sparkle goes to the human world... How the heck do people look like the other ponies in human form...

I'm pretty sure she just finds people nearly identical to her friends in some big coincidence. Or maybe there's some reason they'll explain in the film. If the former is true, I'd hope to see a formerly human Twilight in the pony world trying to adjust to being a pony.

...so.

I kind of like G3 MLP.

Like, I absolutely acknowledge it's no MLPFiM, but I kind of like it anyway.

...don't judge me

That's like the one the fandom says you're not allowed to like. G1 and G4 only.

But G3 is the only one I've yet to see. I know it has it's fans so it's probably worth a look at least.

It skews a bit younger and girlier than MLPFiM, and the animation is comparatively uffda, but aside from that...

^^ wait are you telling me there are people who legitimately defend G1 because, as someone who grew up on that and owns like 5 DVDs, it's complete and utter ****.

In G3 you sort of see the seeds of MLPFiM. Again, writing and characterisation are by no means up to G4 standards, but they are present. Animation isn't great, but a step up from previous generations, and voice-acting is miles better (even features some of the talent from MLPFiM, like Tabitha St. Germain and Kathleen Barr).

I like Minty. She's endearing, for all that she's sort of a klutz and a ninny.

People like the G1 movie because it's "supa edgy", which ties into many bronies' need to make the show sound manlier than it is to justify them watching something so girly.

The only good part of the G1 series is Wind Whistler IMO.

Okay so Equestria Girls is only showing in limited theatres. Normally this would be the kiss of death since "Limited Theatres" usually means "Book a plane ticket to another state, millions of people who live in Flyover country - nearest theatre's probably going to be in Salt Lake City if lightning strikes... but commercials for it will be all over TV and the internet, AND the theatre will be talking about these in their advertisements."

Except it's actually in theatres out here. What. Seriously? We get passed up for all of these "limited showings" and special events (We didn't even get Pan's Labyrinth!), when we finally get one, it's Equestria girls?

My sister watched the move via the Youtubes and said it was awful. I don't hate myself enough to watch it.

^Was she on-board with MLPFiM?

Are you, for that matter?

I'm still keen to see the movie, either way.

She's a fan, I'd say.

I'm no brony, but I can easily admit that the show has some serious charm to it. I honestly enjoy it.

I actually managed to see the movie.

It really is a throwback to the roots of My Little Pony and kids-cartoons shows. That is, an hour-long advertisement for toys hidden behind an absolute cliché storm of a plot with only a few moments that shows the original writers were still there. In other words... the kind of thing you'll expect the successors to the Nostalgia Critic&Nostalgia Chick to be making fun of in the 2020s/2030s. (Then agian it's a made-for-DVD movie that was lucky enough to get a limited theatrical release. Ha$bro clearly didn't wanna make much off of the box office.) In fact I may have even met them - I saw several kids walking away looking disappointed, one girl even tossed her toy in the trash and, when I tried to return it to her, told me to keep it because "ponies suck".

In between the hastily thrown together season 3 finale and this piece of crap, it's on thin ice with me. The inner Brony and BRINO within me wants to say the franchise hasn't jumped the shark, but seeing what sorts of stuff has happened since Faust has left the scene... it's looking to be that way. I'm well aware it's always been about the money. But if bronies and BRINOs start leaving, you risk losing your periphery demographic. And your comic has been doing so well at appealing to the periphery demographic. (Face it... monthly comics are almost never put in a place where kids can get their hands on them.)
