Whoa. Lots to catch up on.
50. Star Trek: Generations, D: This movie was like 2 hours but it honestly felt like 30 minutes - and not in a good way. I didn't feel like anything happened at all. Pathetic way to say goodbye to Kirk.
51. Thor Ragnarok, B+: Usual Marvel goodness. This one was surprisingly VERY funny. I thought the first 30 or so minutes could have flowed better though.
52. Raw, ???: UGH. I honestly don't know how to rate this becuase I know it'll be biased. My gf studies French and wanted me to watch a French movie for her to practice. A friend of hers told her about this movie. SO GRUESOME. SO. DAMN. GRUESOME. It's SO disturbing. It's a gory horror movie. Not like guts everywhere - just disturbing. Really disturbing. I cringed almost the whole way through. It's well-done - yeah. But I will NEVER see this movie again. NEVER. You hear me? NEVER. NOT IN A MILLION YEARS.
53. Lupin the Third vs. Detective Conan(TV Special), C: I think I needed to watch/read Conan to really get some of the jokes. I didn't really feel like it was Lupin and Conan battling wits. More just crossing paths. I thought this was going to be totally different.
54. Justice League, C: Better than Batman vs. Superman. Totally nerded out at Danny Elfman bringing back his '89 Batman theme. Worst part of the movie was the villain really.
55. Alien, A: Classic. Always good ****.
56. Aliens, A: Still awesome. Although some logic is unsound so I'll be nitpicky about that.
57. Prometheus, B: Liked it better this third time.
58. Alien Covenant, B- : Not sure about this one. Typical Alien plot but also it takes a bit to wrap your head around how exactly the xenomorphs started.
59. Predator, B: Standard B movie.
60. Monty Python and the Holy Grail, A: Haven't seen this in a long time and to be honest - I didn't find it as funny as last time. Don't get me wrong, it's witty and influential and a masterpiece. At the same time - I wasn't roaring with laughter like I did before.
61. Death Becomes Her, C+: Eh. Could have been way better. I thought this movie would be different.
62. Kong: Skull Island, B: I actually enjoyed this movie way more than I thought I would. I nabbed it during a Black Friday sale because I thought "Why not?" They're going to do King Kong vs. Godzilla and I love Godzilla no matter what so I figured I would have to watch it anyway to get filled in on this new cinematic universe.
63: King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, D-: AWFUL. HOLY ****. WORST MOVIE I HAVE SEEN SO FAR THIS YEAR. GUY RITCHIE, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? I EXPECTED SO MUCH BETTER. THIS WAS SUCH A LETDOWN. SUCH A CHAOTIC MESS WITH OBNOXIOUS CGI. GUY RITCHIE, HOW COULD YOU BETRAY ME LIKE THIS?
64: Lupin the Third: Napoleon's Dictionary, B: Ah, good old Lupin. Enjoyed this one.

Re: 47 Movies for 2017
my final movies of the year:
65: Pretty Woman, A: Never saw it before. Good, classic ****.
66. Star Trek: First Contact, A: Solid Star Trek movie. The ending moved me as a fan of the show.
67. Star Trek: Insurrection, B-: Not terrible. Could have been better - and made a bit more sense.
68. Star Trek: Nemesis, B-: Same as above.
69. Star Wars: The Force Awakens, B: The more I watch it actually the more I get annoyed thinking about things.
70. Star Wars: The Last Jedi, B: I liked it. Had its ups and downs but I'm okay with it. Would watch again.
71. Get Out, A+: Woo! Great movie. Finally saw it.
72. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, B-: Surprisingly funny. Pretty cheesy at times. Especially the music. The whole thing kind of felt like a College Humor skit - in a good way.
73. What We Do in the Shadows, A: An independent film - a mockumentary about vampires living in a flat in New Zealand. My gf just had me watch it. No idea what it was beforehand. Screamingly funny!
74. Star Wars (1977), A+: I will always officially recognize this as THE Star Wars - before it was titled A New Hope. One of my favorite movies ever. Tonight for New Year's I'm getting together with my friends and we're having a Star Wars themed party, and we're going to watch the movie so that at midnight exactly the Death Star explodes. Can't wait!

Re: 47 Movies for 2017
Whoa, my last post in this thread was August? Dang.
Suffice it to say, I watched a buttload more movies after that, including a batch of Christmas films, Ragnarok, Last Jedi, & more.
And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"
