Looks like it could be a good one. The setting seems really interesting.

I'll admit that this wasn't introduced in the best way (trying to introduce one of the characters as a Disney Princess before we knew anything else about the movie <_<) But it's won me over.

and it has a sense of humor about itself which I can appreciate.

^imho you should listen to it ASAP. The lyricism of the music is just downright impressive.

I saw the trailer and was like "eh" but then I remembered that trailers suck, and that Lin-Manuel Miranda and The Rock are involved. so

Disney trailers are always vague these days. It's hard to tell if a movie will be good from their trailers because of it. However, Disney hasn't let anyone down yet. So that's good.

^ That.............. is a debatable statement.

But agreed on the bit about trailers.

What I mean is that nothing they make is flat out BAD recently.

Average at worst.

I literally just got around to seeing Zootopia yesterday, so it'll probably be a while before I see this one. I've heard great things, as well.

Moana is incredible, probably my favourite movie of the year thus far. It doesn't venture TOO far from disneys formula, but it's really not your typical disney fare. The music is incredible, and The Rock continues to be the ultimate entertainment package.

Learned of something called "Monkey King" starring Jackie Chan which looks like one of these types of movies. I generally ignore them (and most movies) but I might make an exception for it because it reminds me of Saiyuki.

Moana seems different at least but Rock's character will surely annoy me both visually and aurally.

I thoroughly enjoyed Moana. It's very different from most Disney movies.

Saw this today. On a scale of 1-10 of Disney movies I'd give it a 7-8 (6-7 rating compared to movies overall); liked it a lot but imagine it will lose a lot of its charm re watching. There were some incredible animated segments and I really enjoyed the soundtrack.

....however I'm kind of preemptively salty on Kubo's behalf because I'm 99% sure Moana's gonna win the oscar because it always **** does even though IMO it's no contest the other way around. But I'm always salty about that. External influences aside it was a good movie!

(The Rock's character feels kind of like this generation's Aladdin Genie though ngl)
