Brad Neely's Harg Nallin' Sclopio Peepio

So I was super excited for this show. Brad Neely's one of my favrits, man. He made some of the best goofy-ass internet cartoons I know ('Professor Brothers', 'Baby Cakes' and 'America, Now' are almost required viewing), he single-handedly made Rifftrax's take on the first stupid Harry Potter movie more-or-less irrelevant by way of 'Wizard People, Dear Reader', he got his first show on Adult Swim ('China, IL', which I maintain is great). Brad Neely is a champ.

So I watch this new show of his and totally don't get it. I mean, I feel like I generally get Brad Neely's approach to humour, I feel like I'm open to weird stuff as a matter of course, and this is just too off-the-wall for me. Like, it's space-alien humour. It's so far off the beaten path that it's kind of no longer relatable. I laugh slightly here and there-----------that isn't my customary response to Brad Neely's biz, right. I should be snorting soda up my nose on a regular basis, and I'm not. Disappointing. Frustrating.

Am I just too stupid, here? I'm okay with being too stupid, man, if that's the case.

I don't know what to think about Neely getting less relatable, I thought he was on the cusp so if it's as you say - wow. I mean, his Washington video was both brilliant and pretty off the wall, and that was easy to get. I don't know that something more obtuse than the Prof. Brothers is really on the table. Haven't seen the show, so I'd have to do so to give you a verdict. It's just as likely that, if it's on mainstream media, what got through a pitch is not necessarily what works with an audience. Happens a lot. Having humorless suits approve your crap is sort of the opposite of a way to get comedy to work.
I muttered 'light as a board, stiff as a feather' for 2 days straight and now I've ascended, ;aughing at olympus and zeus is crying

It's not even that it's bad---------like, I'm not sure it's even meant to be funny. It's that far afield. I mean, Brad Neely...it's not like he fell over and blonked his head on a rock, forgot how to be funny. He still makes funny stuff. That's why I'm confused, here, you know?
