Even without David Bowie I kinda wonder if it could work without Jim Henson x.x maybe it'll be okay though. Not really many details out yet so eh. Like I understand there's technically no need for a rebootmake, but those have happened to older films for ages and some of the newer versions were generally seen as better. I mean I'm not really stoked for it and its kinda sleezy that they're prolly just trying to piggyback off the news of someone dying, but it may be good either way. I'll try and keep up to date on it.

Why? It's perfect as it is. Truly a gift from Heaven.

Eh?

I don't see the point when half of it was Bowie and the other half was Henson's puppets. They better not be planning on CGI.

Can someone change the title to (not) planning a remake?

apparently the writer has come out and said they've been working with the Jim Henson company since 2014 to make a continuation of the movie, not a remake or reboot.

. . .

still though.

Doesn't make it any better somehow.

"Let's make a sequel without the two people who made it exactly what it was. Yep. We can still do it. Let's, uh, just have the new Goblin King actor lip sync David Bowie."

A sequel makes sense. I thought the Tron sequel was great and never liked the original so this could be alright.
