Rise of the Guardians

is really good

hot damn, Dreamworks. Between this and How to Train Your Dragon, I'mma have to say that what seems to be the general consensus of PIXAR>>>>>DREAMWORKS OH EM GEE is being severely called into question.

First of all. Beautiful animation. Oh my god it was BEAUTIFUL. The plot could have totally sucked and I would've been completely content just watching the snowflakes and the freezing crystals and Tooth's feathers for the entire movie.

Second of all. It was completely adorable. I was kind of expecting Jack Frost to be this awful angsty Sasuke figure, but he wasn't. He was totally likeable and a great character, everyone was a great character, the movie is a great character

I'm just so glad they keep subverting my expectations because I keep expecting their movies to be fun but really cheesy and slapstick and then they keep just being like NOPE, QUALITY and yes Dreamworks I am proud of you. [strike]now dont **** up the httyd sequel[/strike]

anyway A+ would recommend

I caught this last week with my girlfriend. I agree that visually the movie was gorgeous. I really liked the character design in particular.

The story was rather bland and cliched, though.

You're bland and cliche

Ok so it was cliche but honestly I have never been of the opinion that cliche=bad, so idek. Ninety five percent of my favorite things are cliche. It was a heartwarming story with good characters and really cute dynamics between them. And it was pretty

I thought the story was weak, but I loved the characters, especially the Guardians. I know that everyone loves Jack and yada yada yada...but I thought that North was the best part. I love the concept of a badass Santa that's still jolly and loves children.

Actually, the best part is that my aunt and mom ended their year-long feud by going to see it together. They weren't even on speaking terms, but now they're hanging out again.

My favorite character was Tooth. I just mentioned Jack specifically because I went into the movie not expecting him to be a good character, and lo and behold-- he actually was.

On an inteesting note, you know how they made that whole point about the guardians' pasts and why they were chosen? And how they failed to show anyone's but jack's because of the lack of time? The children's novels flesh out everyone's I'm pretty sure. They look really cute, I think I'm gonna read them.

You guys need to link trailers :P

Strawman villain is strawman. I slept like 2 hours max so I'm really grouchy right now, but I can't muster much excitement for this. Was hoping that at least one of the films still showing here that isn't Skyfall would be worth watching since I already saw that. Some idiot decided people don't want to see new movies until the 26th so everything launches then. *******s.
I muttered 'light as a board, stiff as a feather' for 2 days straight and now I've ascended, ;aughing at olympus and zeus is crying
