David Goyer writing new Superman movie

Superhero Hype!
Latino Review has broken the news that David Goyer will write the new Superman movie, to be titled The Man of Steel!

The site's scooper said that Goyer "had an idea that actually takes the movies back to the John Byrne incarnation. Modern. Believable. FUN!"

The site adds that Brandon Routh will not star in the film and Bryan Singer is not expected to direct.

About the story, the scooper adds: "I can tell you that Goyer's story involves Luthor and Brainiac. It is NOT an origin and assumes audiences already know about Lois, Clark, Jimmy and Perry. I know the Daily Planet is struggling due to the internet. And I know it sets up a huge Kryptonian mythology."
Sounds pretty awesome. They're not going to waste time on the origin story that everybody already knows, they're going to give us another villain besides Lex Luthor, and they're not going to try and tie it clumsily to the Christopher Reeve movies from 30 years ago.

And, according to this update, Jonah Nolan (Christopher's brother) is also going to be involved with the writing. And this leads to the part which may or may not be true. Though still an unsubstantiated rumor, it's speculated that Jonah Nolan might, in fact, be slated to direct this new Superman movie (which they're calling The Man of Steel, incidentally).

Whether or not that last bit is true, it sounds like DC and Warner Bros. are finally gearing up to give Superman the 21st century movie franchise he deserves.

Yeah, and maybe Christopher Nolan should convince Uma Thurman to take another crack at Poison Ivy.

I'm not sure he's still working on the script, all I know is that Christopher Nolan's producing (though his focus is on Batman first) and Zack Snyder's directing.
and that's the waaaaaaaaaay the news goes
