Cameron Confirms 'Titanic 3D' at Hollywood.com

Not only is he planning to send a "Director's Cut" of the misbegotten Avatar back to theaters this fall, but he's also planning on re-releasing Titanic into theaters in 2012, this time in 3D.

I don't think I could do a director's cut in this instance. 'Avatar' was already pretty long and self-indulgent to begin with.

Why would he need a director's cut of a movie he had complete control over? Director's cuts are for films like Blade Runner, where somebody other than the director screwed with it.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Well, doesn't a studio usually take the submitted director's cut and trim it down a bit for the theatrical release? Maybe they took out a couple of the vast swathes of extraneous eye-candy that didn't do anything to advance the plot.

Maybe he could re-release The Abyss into theaters, but actually make it interesting and exciting this time.

He better not touch Terminator and Terminator 2.

I doubt it, though. Considering those are arguably his two best movies, it just doesn't seem likely.

Hm, better and more offensive to the roaming spirit of the Titanic.

Oh, and I'm not really a Titanic finatic but I gotta see it in 3D for my favorite scenes; the guy falling off of the boat and hitting like ten things before crashing into the icy ocean, and Jack drifting into the abyss. Nice.

Once these 3D gimmicks and re-releases start flopping, Hollywood's gonna start wondering where all the money went.
