A.O. Scott, Michael Phillips to Take Over ‘At the Movies’ - ArtsBeat Blog - NYTimes.com

This news is a bit old by now, but I thought I'd mention it. I'm not too familiar with Philips, but I do have a lot of respect for A.O. Scott. This should be much better than the Bens. I'm excited to watch.

Of course, the original duo will always be irreplaceable:

Oh god. I don't even want to hear what Fred Phelps re-interpretation of "One Armed Scissor" would sound like.

FAO Schwartz & Michelle Phillips? What do they know about movies? And isn't Schwartz dead?

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Michael Phillips is the bearded guy who (along with Scott) became the most common Ebert stand-in before Roeper left the show.

Yeah... I feel like I saw a few episodes with Phillips. I definitely remember seeing a few Roeper & AO Scott episodes.

The first reviews by the new hosts are now up on the website and I like what I see.

At the Movies

Edit: Just in case you don't get confused, the new reviews are on the side links. The "Now in Theatres" links are still the old hosts.
