High School Musical was the only Disney Channel Original Movie that ever got so much publicity. It's only natural Disney would want to put it in theaters because it would make such a profit. Also, one could also say they are putting a larger budget into the movie because of that.


I mean, would you expect them to put the sequel to Brink on the widescreen? That movie would fail opening weekend.

Unfortunately a lot of unwilling mothers will go see it along with the 8-13 year old girls. I hope it doesn't come out around Thanksgiving, which will force it to compete with quality things, like the new Bond movie or The Express (no, not the Pineapple Express, just The Express). -CSM

It comes out 10/24/08. Knowing how many people tuned in to HSM2 (like, 31.2 million), I think this might become one of the most viewed movies of history. The only thing that could get worse is if the Jonas Brothers made a movie...Miley Cyrus already made her gay movie...so yea.

I wouldn't mind it as much if they had a genuine reason to worship it. But considering that there are 2 other, less popular movies with the exact same plot, this really means that the mainstream only likes for the singing and Zac Efron.

My problem is the fact that movies that are actually quality get pushed aside for the ****train that is HSM.

Do NOT get me started on the Jonas Brothers. I now have a personal vendetta against them because we were having our company luncheon last Friday, and the Jonas Brothers were in town doing a concert for Good Morning America, and afterwards they were getting an interview with a radio station that broadcasts from my office building, and we had to get a lot of food up the elevator for our company luncheon, and we had to HOLD THE FOOD outside for like 30 minutes because they were holding the elevators just for the Jonas Brothers. It makes me sick. -CSM
