Why is there no good TV in the summer?

I should be ashamed, though I'm not...I've been following So You Think You Can Dance almost religiously this summer. But that's what DVR is for, just record the damn thing.

Honestly I find myself paying attention to Reality TV not because it's great TV, but it's something to do. I can easily see Big Brother isn't the best show out there at all, but it gets interesting as it progresses and it's something to look forward during the week to an otherwise dry summer.
