I think there should be a portable SSB.
Functions:
A for normal attack, B for special, up and L for jump, and R for sheild/dodge. I think it would work very well. And after seeing the capabilities of the GBA/SP for a while, I think they could do it.

that would be interesting, although it would have to be for the DS with WI-FI. I would love to see it happen.

I don't know how well it would work with the GBA. The DS has more buttons, which can be a plus if X and Y were to be used for something other than jump (Y to grab, for instance). The touch screen wouldn't really have any need to be used though, except for possibly making setting up games, selecting characters, and entering names faster and easier. Not to mention an SSB for Game Boy would require everyone to own a link cable to work well.
It's like Mario Party Advance. It would have worked better on the DS, and just doesn't seem like it should be on GBA at all.

DS controls could be like this:
B:special
A:attack
X and Y:jump
control pad:move, quick double tap for samash attacks and running
L:shield
R:grab
start
ause of course.
select:taunt

A GBA SSB would be crappy. The graphics are too old.

Kind of like how you're too crappy because your face looks like it had a sexual affair with a lawnmower?

Sort of, but worse.
