My game idea (which was stupidly rejected by Nintendo because it was “unsolicited”) is this; a game called “Mario’s Classics Gallery” for the Nintendo Gamecube. In the game, you are Mario, and you can walk around in a high-rez “Game Gallery”, which can include all the classic Mario games: Donkey Kong, Mario Bros, Wrecking Crew, Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 2, Super Mario Bros 2 Japanese, Super Mario Bros 3, Yoshi, Yoshi’s Cookie, Super Mario Land, Super Mario Land 2, and Super Mario World. When you start out the game, there’s only Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Super Mario Bros, and Super Mario World. To gain the rest of the games, you would have to earn certain amounts of points in the advanced mode. These points will be used to buy games in the gallery. The gallery will also include 3-D images of the game’s original box (or arcade cabinet), front and back, and include a short explanation and history of it. You can also play the games... but, as an incredible bonus, in “Classic” and “Advanced” mode. The classic is the game as it looked when you first played it, graphics and all. The advanced mode is the same thing, only with rich, 256 bit graphics, with “living” backgrounds (such as in SSB Melee), polygonal characters, and excellent sound effects. For a few games, like Super Mario Bros. 2, you can even have changing views, where the camera is behind your character or above or below. Keep in mind, the locations and gameplay will all be the same, it will still be a platformer, but the graphics wil be 256 all the way. Maybe the game will also have character voices. What do you think?
That idea sounds great, but the graphics could not be 256 bit. The capabilities of the GameCube are 128-bit. Hmm..that sounds like a VERY GOOD IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!! Nintendo should do something like that, at least with Mario 1, 2, & 3 for the NES. Being able to play those 3 games in 128 bit where you could change the camera angles would be AWESOME!
