(Is there a limit to Star's abilities? It seems like it would be)
Roy decided that before he do anything, it would be best to purchase items at the shop.
He'd go there with the intent of buying 3 Lt. Potions and a Lt. Tonic.
(Normally I wouldn't act so hasty, but I figure it would save both of us time if I stated it ahead of time.)

Stars can use each of their abilities once with no cost. Then from there, they start using up points based on their Ability stat. So you get one for each of your abilities then 6 more for whatever one abilities you want.
Items bought. What next?

Ah, I'd like to take my chance at a mission.

1- Potion wanted: My friend was injured recently and I want a potion to help speed his recovery. Difficulty:V. Low.
2 - Lost Friend: My friend Liros and I were out playing the other day but we got separated. Its been a while and he still hasn't come back. I want someone to go look for him. Difficulty: Medium.
3- Raid: Defenses have been pumped up in the town of Rham, our leader wants more muscle for our attack on them. Difficulty: Low. (Rep V)
4- For Honor: I was recently attacked and humiliated in front of everyone. I want to get back at them, but want to do so by my own strength. I'm not strong enough, and would like someone to help train me for this. Difficulty: High.
5- Monster Defense: Monsters have been acting up around our town recently, some even attacking people. We want someone to stay around for a few days, protecting our people and possibly driving them all away. Difficulty: Medium.
6- Desert Expedition - I am planning an expedition in search of ruins in the Armal Desert and would like a few extra men to help in my search. Those who apply must be well prepared for long hours and the harsh climate. Difficulty: High. (Far)
(Rep V lowers reputation, making less missions be available later on, but generally are more rewarding for less work. Far means you'll be travelling a long time, some kind of ride is almost required for them.)

I'd like to inquire the details of mission 2.

You ask about the second mission, handing the card with the details on it to the man behind the desk (who I forgot to mention here earlier despite doing so in every other topic).
"Okay, so the client is Nian Telart from Trent, its a town not too far to the west. The pay is 150gp, though it says there might be a bit more too. Want it?"

Roy pondered it for a while. It seemed like a relevantly small amount, but then again, it wasn't too bad and he didn't need something too difficult for him.
"Sure, why not?" He said carelessly.

You accept the mission; leaving the club and heading westward toward the town of Trent. As you keep traveling, you spot a small creature near by, similar to a rabbit only with a longer tail and a few other small differences. You could probably avoid it if you wanted.

I'd like to challenge it.

You move toward the creature, it noticing you as you get close.
Nirubin uses Repel. You feel a strong force pushing you backwards and find yourself back where you were before you went after it.

I try to get close to it again and strike with a Normal Attack.

You head back toward the creature, it noticing you as you head near. A blue barrier appears around it as you get into range with it.
You attack, your sword bouncing off the barrier.
The Nirubin does nothing.
Your turn (Wings of Death work at the same time for if you want to use any abilities)

Attack with Blazing Storm (2 Strikes)
Posted: Wed Jan 09, 2008 11:42 pm
by KirbyBoy2000
You strike twice with Blazing Storm; the first strike shattering the barrier, the second bringing the creature to only 5HP.
The Nirubin shivers and creates a small orb in front of it, rolling it towards your feet. Take it?

Um, that's kind of vague. It could be black and smell like death or it could be ivory and smell like flowers.
I'll take it anyway.

Nah, its not bad or anything. Its basically a bargaining thing for it; a gift in exchange for not killing it. Really its only because I'm basing encounters on a dice roll, with those low on the scale being either helpful, timid, or harmless, and the ones higher up combative or powerful.
Anyway...
You lean over and pick up the orb, the Nirubin runs as you do.
Barrier Orb - Can reduce damage taken from an attack by 25, or when used, will create a barrier that blocks 50 damage total.
You continue heading west, nothing much happening as you eventually walk by a forest. As you keep walking you spot 3 wolves in the distance, with a larger one besides them.

Hm, despite a false victory in my last battle, I don't think I'd like fighting those. They appear to be a bit powerful, at least for right now.
I'd like to try to avoid them.

You walk past, trying to keep out of sight from the wolves. One of them however notices you as you pass, and soon all of them are aware of your presense. They begin to move towards you to attack. You have a turn to prepare/attempt to run.

Crap.
Well, I've never been one for running in fights. I'll prepare to use Deadly Blow (6E, +8% Critical) on the "Alpha Wolf".
