CF - Jerian
Name: Jerian Lychon
Appearance: 5'10, short black hair, brown eyes, has muscle but is still relatively skinny. Wears a white shirt and blue pants, has a belt that carries some food, and currently has a one-handed axe.
History: Jerian was born within the outskirts of Talernn. During the age of 6, he was forced to work on a farm to help provide food for the capital city. As he aged, the tasks became increasing difficult, causing his pride for his nation to slowly fade away.
Finally, at 18, he fled the farm and had travelled for four years to several towns until he reached a small town in Afarum. There, he had learned of the Black Talon and its motives as well as the national conflicts of Talernn. Being born into an insecure nation such as Talernn, Jerian decided for the sake of Afarum that he would kill any weak candidates trying for king in Afarum to force an effective and charismatic king to organize the nation and defend against the Black Talon.

After travelling across the plains of Talmest for many years, disappointed by many of the men you've seen trying to gain power in Afarum, you feel you finally found a person who could be a good leader within the country. A man originally from Selsis by the name of Fintan Rolm. He is incredibly charismatic, gaining the support of most people in Telth, a town by the western border of Afarum. His goals are to bring peace to Afarum, even if he must defeat anyone who wants to only seek power for themselves.
Telth is a fairly small town, most of its people just simple farmers before Fintan came to the town. Now under his guidance it is better suited for battle, many of the men within it becoming soldiers. As it is, there are many small shops, and a small building for the army was made as well.
- - - - -
Current Location - Telth
1: Base: A small fort made for the army.
- Speak: Talk either to the other members of the army or to Fintan. Speaking to other soldiers will improve your relations with them, which will make them help you more often. And Fintan will generally be more about missions to help out the army.
- Spar: Train with other members of the army.
- Armory: Holds a small amount of weaponry.
2: Townsquare: The center of Telth, most of the shops located are within here.
- Speak: Talk to townsfolk.
- Market: Sells an assortment of items, though mostly stuff grown on the farms.
- Blacksmith: Creates and sells weapons and armor.
- Stables: Get horses and other animals for transportation.
- - - - - - -
Also, to answer your question on if you could learn weapon based skills instead of spells with your mind the answer is yes. In fact, you can try any type of ability in or out of battle. The success of it though is based off of any previous training and your Mind for the most part. If you have any more questions just ask.

"Alright lets go. I'm Alwin by the way. You?"
"Jerian Lychon."
You go first. Like I said in the main topic, if you would rather choose to fight in a way other than a standard style just say so.
Jerian
HP:370
MP:0
Alwin
HP:260
MP:0
Notes: End if you haven't noticed adds up to HP mostly. And for MP... it starts at 0, boosting a bit each round, although you can do nothing to boost it further. It shouldn't concern your character all that much right now though.

Don't mention it. Besides, may as well stick the only active topics here...
You can do anything with your MP really. Use spells like you normally would, maybe power up an attack or something. The only thing is if you're not skilled enough you could fail at it. Which usually just means that the MP you were using goes to waste unless you were trying a difficult spell or something, in which case you would get hurt. I really should have put something like this in the main topic, but I don't like giving stuff like the formulas I use for battles away.
Anyway... If you are going to do something like that just say what you want and how much MP. And if you're wondering, the MP boost comes at the end of your turn.
You swing your axe at Alwin, hitting him for 70 damage.
Alwin casts Volt Lance (MP -100). Inflicts 100 damage.
Your turn.
Jerian
HP:200
MP:90
Alwin
HP:100
MP:50

You focus on your axe and place your energy into it before you swing at Alwin. (-30MP) 85 damage.
Alwin casts a healing spell. (-50MP). Heals 75HP. After casting the spell he holds his head in pain.
Your turn.
Jerian
HP:200
MP:90
Alwin
HP:90
MP:0
Status: Headache.
Headache - Prevents the restoration of MP during each turn. There is a small chance to get it when magic is used, increasing when used several times in a row. I figure this should stop some tactics, such as casting nothing but healing spells to stall, which fits surprisingly well in this situation...

You attack Alwin with a simple slash of your axe.
"Alright, Alright. You've won. It was pretty good training, but I'm kind of tired now. Maybe I'll see you later or something." He states, rubbing his head. He picks up his spear and then heads back into the base.
Exp +20, Training (3/5).
What now? If you still want to train then the only other person is the archer.
