The spy safely returns.

The enemy advances. They're within bowshot on both sides. Open fire?

Couple things.

Are you gonna redeploy your squadrons?

Which squadrons are firing where?

I think you said basic Line formation for all of them, so that's fine.

archers firing on the advancing soldiers. Everyone else waiting. I'll have the south, north wait, (in case any signs of a sneak attack) Standby is still on standby.

Archers in Western Squadron and Eastern Squadron fire. Most of them hit their targets, and you see around thirty score of light infantry drop on both sides. Their long range units were not within bowshot, due to your height advantage, but they advance to bowshot and are ready to fire next turn.

The rest of their army continues towards you, rapidly advancing. They're at the foot of the slope on each side.

Your close-range units stand by, ready to advance, hold their ground, fall back, or be redeployed. The infantry can't reach the foot of the slope this turn, although the horsemen can. You can order your melee units to move this turn, or wait until next turn when your archers have reloaded.

Your orders?
