Ever been on a long (more than 3 days) camping trip?
How was it?
What was the one thing you wish you had taken with you?
What was the one thing you didn't like?
For those who haven't camped... what are 5 things you think you'd take camping?
This is to let you all know I'll be away for a week...camping!! So, probably very little access to the internet. I hope to get some beautiful astronomy pics!!! And a bit of snorkeling and hiking in!!
Take care and see you all again next week!!!! *leaves you marshmallow pizzas*

Re: Camping Trip
Yes. I did weeklong camping trips every summer I was in Boy Scouts.
They were mostly fun.
Didn't much care for the beetles; they liked to crash into me & it hurt. Some years it was hella hot, too.
Have fun on your trip!
And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

Re: Camping Trip
My first two years up at camp, I lived in a wall tent for six/seven weeks. It wasn't awful, except northern Wisconsin still gets cold at night in June (you'd wake up sometimes to find frost on the ground), there was no electricity out there, and you needed mosquito netting or you'd get eaten alive.
...think the last time I did any actual tent camping was in 2011. Some of our extended family went to a public campground, and Ma and I went along and brought little almost-three-year-old River with. Wasn't a great weekend (it rained a lot, and the lake's algae/bacteria levels made swimming unsafe), but we made the most of it we could. Wonder if Riv remembers that weekend at all...

Re: Camping Trip
We belonged to a camping club when I was growing up. Everybody had campers with an electric and water hookup, so it was never really roughing it. I'm sure I even had a little TV and NES with me, but also they had a lot of activities on site. A lot of weekend trips, but we did a week or two sometimes.
To me, you are the teacher in the Charlie Brown cartoon.

Re: Camping Trip
I survived!!! It was awesome! Plenty of things done, but the highlight was definitely the snorkeling.
I wish I'd taken more music with me. That said, I'm now a fan of 2 Ed Sheeran songs.
I didn't like the flies, and whenever we stopped and opened the car doors, they'd swarm in. They were evicted when I drove with all the windows down.
