Blast from the past
So I was playing around on my bass guitar and played along to Not Like the Other Girls by the Rasmus and I thought of how I had first learned about that song. Then I realized I first learned about it here because Heroine of the Dragon had suggested it as a song of the week when I was moderating the Music Forum (this is over 15 years ago now, I think). So I thought I'd give these forums a look to see if they still existed and to my surprise they did and HotD is still an active member!
So this is just me saying hi and how've you been. Don't think I'll be actively joining again. But it's funny to see some familiar names like CaptHayfever and IRHP and it was really sad to see the Knuckles memorial forum

Re: Blast from the past
Omgosh!!! This is such a wonderful surprise, and I'm touched that you remember that song (it's still one of my very favourites and I listen to it at least weekly!!)
I'm well. Still studying (many more hours in my goal to become fluent) and, also busy with things away from home. Which is great, except for the lack of internet access.
Anyway, how are you? I hope you are well and that life has been kind to you!! You are always welcome to drop by occasionally!!!

Re: Blast from the past
Yes, life's been very kind! I've been together with my girlfriend for almost 16 years now (most people of my generation don't get married anymore in The Netherlands, but she's practically my wife, except for the certificate), we have an 8-year old daughter and a 5-year old son. I've been working at a teacher training college for about 12 years, teaching subjects like grammar, phonetics and linguistics to future English teachers. My hobbies and interests haven't changed since I was here. I'm still interested in politics, I still love movies and music and I still play Nintendo games on a daily basis (just finished GoldenEye on the Switch and just started the Metroid Prime remaster).
It was really nice to see your responses. I wonder how all your lives have changed. I think most of us were in high school and college back then, so I'm sure many of you have careers and families now!

How's that Metroid Prime remaster? It looks pretty cool.
