No, Mario cooked him with a fireball and ate him last month. Dang cannibals.

I hope so. The last thing I want is to find out that his most recent post was made by a ghost or something.

I'm between two houses, trying to transfer to a college, learn Calculus 3, and Assembly language.

If you have something for me to upload I can do that. Not much else.

For a start, I think it would be enough if this sentence finally changed:
"12 Years on the Internet - 9/6/97 to 9/6/09! Holy Macguffin! It doesn't end, does it?"

;)

It's vaguely odd to think I've been 'in power' that long.

I'll change it, but if you want anything else, then make it. I've seen that few people have new content for NC and it isn't really the same without Jay. This plus running around everywhere with real life issues means I couldn't really do much for NC even if I wanted to--and no one else is interested, seemingly, sans Alph and the rare short submission.

Didn't Jay once say that he wanted to see NC to eventually become fan-made? I remember reading that somewhere.. Well, his wish came true.

Perrin Aybara wrote: And on that note, one final note about NC, is that from what I've seen what you all have done to NC, I like how it has been going. I think both giving credit for what I have done on the site and keeping it archived, as well as allowing fans and people to still contribute to the site, is very well done and the best idea. Nice job. Hopefully it can continue to grow as a fan-based site.

I'm afraid you're living in the past, Meow Man and X-3; we already determined it was dead.

As a fan from back when it was actually alive (a time which predates most of you), I can safely say that it has been dead, at least since 2005. The zombified corpse was given a second chance after that recent election, but it quickly decomposed when it became clear that everyone else and their loud words were empty. Sure, I didn't do all the things I promised, but I did something, while most of the rest just left for good.

As Jay said, it'd be best to just archive it. The comix were about a time which is now gone: one in which Al Gore jokes and primitive sprite-based art was acceptable. One in which emulation was new, and most of the plots explored in here were considered ground-breaking. Mario was the leader of all the games back then, and SMBHQ brought in millions of new viewers.

Those days are gone. A die-hard elite may persist, but in the end, the problem is NC lost the common person eons ago. Without them there is no fanbase to support a 'growing' fan-supported site. Without them there are no large groups of viewers. And without them, hours of work on primitive sprite comix becomes an exercise in futility.

I say this as someone who wanted NC to continue as much as anyone else; but there is, ultimately, nothing left. There is the last NC/SSS Crossover one, which will appear one day (It is 3/4 completed), and there is some more of Alph's thing. But otherwise it's done.

If you want to convince me otherwise, do the impossible and get Jay to make new comix. Multiple new comix. Full series with hundred+ panels.

You won't be able to do it. I'm quite sure of it.

...yes, I'm perfectly aware of what Jay has said. I referenced it in the Forum Changes Comments thread.

Not sure why I'm "living in the past" though.
