The soul break.
Anyone try to pull this off in actual matches? It's nearly impossible, but if you can't win with style, what's the point in winning?
Discuss and stuff.

What exactly do you have to do to pull this Soul Break off?

And what's Ness doing to G&W in this picture that turns G&W into a flying projectile? Something with his Oil Panic.

What are the pics of? They come up as a red x.

I didn't see the pic Tub, but I think I can guess what you're talking about. Every move in SSB:M has a kick-back or backlash to it if blocked. Oil Panic's varys depending on what goes into it. If G&W catches 3 PK flashes the backlash on Oil Panic becomes so strong that it litteraly flings G&W out of the arena and KO's him, if someone actually manages to block it. You can get other combinations that have similar effects, the 3 PK Flash is just the most potent.

They're movies, Crav. Windows Media format.

The first one is Mewtwo using--I think--Disable on Bowser, getting Bowser frozen & stuck to him and 'shield breaking' Mewtwo. Once Mewtwo was unstunned, he did some attacks on Bowser, raising the damage but NOT knocking him away. Then Mewtwo walked off, killing Bowser, but Mewtwo managed to jump clear.

The second was exactly what you said.

And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"

^^So what your saying is that Mr. Game and Watch can become very suicidal, unintentionally?

Yeah, I've actually tricked my friends with that a few times. Let them think that I didn't want them to catch those attacks. Then when they try to release it... good bye. It's still risky though. You have to shield just right or the attack KO's you instead, and even if you do it perfectly, it always breaks your shield, so you'll be helpless if there are other players around.

What still struck me odd about that is in the clips with a third player in the arena, namely Bowser then Peach, G&W was flung backwards, then the Oil shot out of the bucket and KOed the other players. At least, I'm sure that's what happened.

What probably happened was, G&W was sent backwards so fast that the attack wasn't finished executing itself, so the oil could slam into other battlers.

How does Link do this one? I think this could be useful, the cheap way I like to play with him.

Thiis is something I wish I could do. Young Link puts the bomb on the ground yet it doesn't explode.

Ya know, I'll bet if one of us could read Japanese, the text under the movies would explain everything.

Well, Babelfish was no help. Translating from Japanese-to-English I got an error, and translating Chinese-to-English, the only english word that resulted was "then". Lots of help, really. ;)

Odd... Link used his hookshot on the side of the stage. Is that even possible?

That's part of it, the other part is that G&W moves so fast that he actually does become a projectile. It's like throwing one player at another.

Yes, Link can hang off of walls with his hookshot(so can Samus's grappling beam). That's common knowlegde. This trick involves jumping at just the right moment as Link is reeling himself backup. The resulting whiplash sends him flying off the top of the screen. It can be pulled off with a little practice.

Young Link puts the bomb on the ground yet it doesn't explode.
This one is pulled off by taking a short hop and dropping the bomb as Link goes into his kneeling landing position. It works because the bomb only blows up if it falls more than a certain distance. By releasing it after a hop you can place it almost directly on the ground. Another way to make it work is to jump about half way through a floating platform and drop it there.

Any more questions? ;)

Here's something I don't get. It looks like L007's video, but this time the opponents seem to skide away.

If you don't have the patience or second player to make gathering PK Flashes easier, Samus makes a great alternative, since 3 fully charged shots when caught still do an insane amount of damage.

I tried this in training mode with her and Mario, and it worked perfectly, KOing Mario in the process. Awesome.

Soul Break. What exactly happens? I gathered this..

Bowser drops through the platform as gets hit with Confusion by Mewtwo, and the second he flips Bowser over, he shields, and the shell hits Bowser into him. Correctamundo, or am I missing something?
