Other Thing of the Month #115: Super Smash Land 2

RIVALS OF AETHER
Featured in: Windows, Xbone, Switch
Function: Indie-Flash-style SSB.
Info:
--The "official" roster of the game is almost all OCs, but the Steam version has a workshop that allows full custom character/stage creation, including most Smash characters by this point.
--Starting roster: Absa, Etalus, Forsburn, Kragg, Maypul, Orcane, Wrastor, & Zetterburn.
--DLC roster: Ranno, Clarien, Sylvanos, Elliana, Guadua, Sandbert, Ori (from Ori & the Blind Forest), Sein (ditto), & Shovel Knight (from...Shovel Knight).
--"Canonized" additions to the roster from the workshop: Mollo, Hodan, Pomme, & Olympia.
--Workshop content is not accessible on the console versions. :(
--No shields, only parries. And no ledge-grabbing either.
--No relation to Ike's Aether.
Silly OCs are part of why I never took Super Smash Flash seriously, & Rivals is *entirely* built on them. That said, watching Alpharad playing a lot of this game does make it look really fun & up my alley. That said, the Switch version not being able to access the workshop is a turn-off, & I might need to look into buying a PC controller (& resetting my Steam password) for this.
And remember, "I'm-a Luigi, number one!"
