Panfan's Preview: Guitar Hero III

#1

Post by Calamity Panfan » Sat May 26, 2007 9:28 pm

Since Guitar Hero came out in 2005, I have been obsessed with the series. Now, Guitar Hero III is coming out sometime this year. Here are my thoughts on the game so far.

This is the song list as of now. Bold represents songs performed by the original artist.

"Barracuda" - Heart
"Cherub Rock" - Smashing Pumpkins
"Cult of Personality" - Living Colour
"Knights of Cydonia" - Muse
"My Name is Jonas" - Weezer
"Paint It, Black" - The Rolling Stones
"Rock and Roll All Nite" - Kiss
"Sabotage" - Beastie Boys
"School's Out" - Alice Cooper
"Slow Ride" - Foghat
"The Metal" - Tenacious D

Unknown songs by the following artists:
Queens of the Stone Age
Velvet Revolver

THIS IS A F***ING GREAT SONG LIST. These 11 songs alone make me want the game, and the past games have had over fifty. There is not one song in this list that I do not like. The Guitar Hero team is trying to get Metallica, Led Zeppelin, and AC/DC who would all be awesome.

The controller for Wii/PS3/360 will have Les Paul models, while PS2 will have a Kramer model. They should all be wireless.

I'll have more stuff on the game as time progresses.
and that's the waaaaaaaaaay the news goes

The Metal and Miss Murder are making me want to shun Rock Band.
When in Rome, do as the Romans do.
So.....
What happens when Romans feel out of place?

Through the Fire and Flames is going to be like Six and Jordan combined.

"10 of the best players were flown into LA to test drive the full version of guitar hero 3. Of those 10, all 10 of them failed through the fire and flames at TWO PERCENT. Only one guy succeeded in passing the song. It was a 71% score, 3 stars.... on his 21st try."

I actually heard that they're going to have "One" by Metallica on it as well. I heard that Activision reported it at ScoreHero, but it hasn't been officially confirmed beyond that.

"Washington Is Next" would be a kickass song for GH III. Gotta have at least one Black Sabbath and one Megadeth song in each GH game. It's like a tradition.

I'm still pushing for a Dreamn Theater or Symphony X song in GH III, but I doubt it'll happen. It's very unfortunate too, considering John Petrucci and Michael Romeo are two of the best guitarists in the business.
